Biography

Beneath the luminous ethereal sunset of the paradise island named Nevis in the village of Stoney Grove, this bold, dynamic, passionate and courageous Aries beauty christened Shaquoya Flanders was born.

Guided by her personal mantra, “Never Give Up,” Shaquoya believes that if ever you feel like quitting always remember why you started and where you are destined to reach.

She exudes confidence and resilience and has utilized these attributes to fuel her personal successes. Moreover, Shaquoya has a sound intellectual foundation and through her continuous quest for self empowerment and academical development Shaquoya is well placed to play her part in the growth and development of her beloved country.

Her academics journey has seen her attained an Associates Degree in Business Management from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. Additionally, her love and passion for beauty and cosmetology took her through the halls of the D’Marie Institute in Jamaica resulting in her certification as a City and Guilds licensed Cosmetologist.

Shaquoya continues to invest in her education as she is presently enrolled at University of The West Indies Nevis Campus.

In her leisure time, Shaquoya enjoys dancing, listening to various genres of music, relaxation and of course savouring the local cuisine.

From early Shaquoya had a keen interest in pageantry and has been a contestant in numerous pageants dating as far back as primary school.

She has chaired and coached numerous participants and contestants.

Shaquoya is honored to have been granted an opportunity to make her contribution to the 50th edition of the Nevis Culturama festival, as she is contestant in this year’s Ms Culture Swimsuit Pageant. This is a very proud moment for Shaquoya and she would like to express her gratitude and appreciation to the Culturama Committee and the pageant’s subcommittee.

In closing, she would like to use this platform to encourage others to utilize their talents and abilities and to make positive contributions within our society.
